Become a Petroleum Engineer!
There is a strong requirement for qualified petroleum engineers in the Australian oil and gas industry, as well as in the rest of the world. Petroleum engineering is one of the best paid professions in the oil and gas industry, and probably the best travelled.
Our under graduate and post graduate courses are comprehensive in nature and provide multidisciplinary education with hands-on training in petroleum engineering. Candidates completing the courses are expected to work as fully qualified petroleum engineers requiring minimum supervision in the upstream oil and gas industry. The teaching staff in the department consists of professionals with many years of working experience in the petroleum industry, both locally and internationally and they bring their industrial experience into all classes and units.
Teaching of our Bachelor in Petroleum Engineering will commence in March 2010. This degree is supported by Woodside Energy Ltd who have kindly provided scholarships. For further information regarding these opportunities please refer to the scholarships website.
Two similar Masters courses are offered - the Masters in Petroleum Engineering (M Pet Eng) which is of 1.5 years duration, and the Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering (MSc Pet Eng) being of 2 years duration.
